Objectives

 

Objective of the Doc.funds MOLECULAR METABOLISM PhD training

Our students will …

  • become self-determined, independent researchers with expertise in the interdisciplinary, multi-facetted, and future-oriented research field “Molecular Metabolism”
  • learn to optimally use our model organisms (bacteria, yeast, cell culture, fly, mouse) by addressing clinically relevant research questions, correctly design laboratory experiments and translate the results back to humans
  • gain international experience and start to generate their own world-wide network
  • be given a comprehensive skill set including scientific writing and presentation as well as interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • gain initial experiences in supervision, training and teaching, e.g. as teaching assistants in laboratory courses and seminars.
